Owner and DVM

From the time her childhood hamsters surprised her family with babies, Dr. Turner knew veterinary medicine was where her heart belonged. What began as a love for animals quickly grew into a lifelong calling to help both pets and the people who love them. Thanks to early mentorship at Bamberg Veterinary Clinic and a community-focused scholarship program at Wofford College, she discovered that veterinary medicine was the perfect blend of compassion, problem-solving, and connection.

After earning her veterinary degree, Dr. Turner began her career as an Army Veterinary Corps Officer, where she had the unique opportunity to serve pets and people around the world. Those four years overseas deepened her love for leadership, travel, and teamwork. Now back home in South Carolina, she’s excited to build South Lake Vet — a place where pets are treated like family and clients are cared for with compassion, clarity, and respect.

As a veterinarian, Dr. Turner loves the variety that each day brings. Whether it’s guiding families through preventive care, solving complex medical cases, or celebrating a wellness visit with a once-critical patient, she values the trust that clients place in her. Having nearly lost her own dog, she knows firsthand how much every healthy, tail-wagging moment matters — and she’s committed to giving families the same peace of mind she treasures with her own pets.

As the owner of South Lake Vet, Dr. Turner is passionate about creating a culture where her team and clients feel supported. She believes veterinary care works best as a partnership: clear communication, personalized care plans, and plenty of time for questions. Her goal is simple: to make sure every pet and person who walks through the door feels seen, heard, and cared for.

Outside the clinic, you’ll often find Dr. Turner soaking up the outdoors, spending time on the lake, tackling a CrossFit workout, traveling, or practicing Spanish with her boyfriend (he’s from Costa Rica — she’s still working on it!).

Warm, approachable, and community-rooted, Dr. Turner is proud to bring modern, compassionate care to Lexington and can’t wait to welcome you and your pets into the South Lake Vet family.

With over eight years of experience in veterinary medicine, Megan Nettles brings both skill and heart to her role as Hospital Manager at South Lake Vet. She began her career as a veterinary assistant and grew into technician and surgical assistant roles before moving into leadership. Inspired by childhood visits to her mother’s animal hospital, Megan has always found deep fulfillment in caring for pets and the people who love them.

At South Lake Vet, Megan ensures the hospital runs smoothly for both patients and staff. She manages team development, oversees policies and procedures, and creates a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment. She also loves connecting the clinic to the community through events, education, and outreach, always aiming to strengthen the bond between families and their pets.

Megan has been part of many life-saving veterinary cases alongside incredible doctors, and those experiences fuel her dedication to high-quality care. At home, her heart belongs to her three rescue pets: Lynx, a necktie-wearing cat who thinks he’s in charge; Stella, her smart and independent black dog; and Noel, her sweet but silly white dog.

Outside the clinic, Megan is passionate about science and enjoys hiking, kayaking, and crocheting (she’s been making scarves since second grade). She thrives in fast-paced, ever-changing environments and is always looking for new ways to grow and support the South Lake Vet team in their mission to deliver exceptional care.

Farrah has been part of the veterinary field since 2019, serving in client service roles where she has built meaningful relationships with both pets and their people. With a lifelong passion for animal care that started in childhood, she always knew veterinary medicine was where she belonged. Helping animals thrive and connecting with the families who love them is what fuels her every day.

Throughout her career, Farrah has demonstrated strong leadership and results driven performance. As Lead CSR at her previous hospital, she helped elevate the practice into the top five in the company for scheduling and completing overdue dental procedures. Her commitment to proactive communication and client education played a key role in that achievement.

At South Lake Vet, Farrah brings warmth, organization, and a genuine love for people and pets to her role as Client Liaison. She is currently expanding her knowledge and skills by pursuing her veterinary technician education and recently completed her first semester of vet tech school. Her long term goal is to continue growing within the field and step into a technician role.

At home, Farrah shares her life with Caesar, her twelve year old pibble who still believes he is two. He adores squeaky toys and may challenge you for ownership of them. When she is not at the clinic, Farrah enjoys reading, solving puzzles, spending time with Caesar, and delivering a well timed pun whenever possible.
